In 1986, a bus carrying the Swift Current Broncos hit black ice and spun off the road, killing four of the players. For Bob Wilkie, the tragedy consumed his life, throwing him into a downward spiral. In a time when mental health support was dangerously minimal, and under the abusive supervision of their coach Graham James who denied them help to protect his secret, healing was stripped from them.
In this character driven feature documentary, Sideways follows the 35-year grief journey of Wilkie and other Broncos players such as Peter Soberlak, Darren Kruger and Dan Lambert to shed light on the terrible ordeal of dealing with unchecked trauma. It presses the effects of keeping silent and the urgency of internal and external support. Wilkie turned the tragedy into the progression of mental health in the world of sports and beyond. Garnering the voices of experts and those personally involved in the accident, Sideways is a statement about loss, the courage to speak your truth and the importance of healing.

We will provide you with the files for both the digital flyer, which can be emailed to potential buyers, and a double-sided printable flyer if required for handouts at events and/or fundraising drives.

HOW IT WORKS FOR THE BUYER
The film is currently set up to pre-buy at www.sidewaysdocumentary.ca where anyone can purchase the digital stream. The buyer will find the link on the digital flyer and the QR code on the printable flyer mentioned above, which both lead them quickly and easily to the Sideways purchase page.
The buyer is given the prompt to enter the code (again, specific to you) which gives them $5 off the purchase price.
Once someone buys the film, they will receive an email with easy to follow instructions, their personal passcode and Login details. The customer will then be able to sign in and stream the film any time after November 4 , 2025.
PRICING AND REVENUE
The digital stream retails at 19.99 USD. Why USD you ask? As www.sidewaysdocumentary.ca is the only platform this film is available on we want to be fair to every affiliate that lives in the USA or overseas. Affiliates in Germany, the UK and the Nordic Territories are also using USD. This means your Promo Code revenue is also in USD.
There are no upfront costs or fees associated to the affiliate. Sideways has provided the platform for each consumer to enter their unique code, purchase and watch their digital stream.
We provide all information to the affiliate including sales and the names of people who purchased using their code. We report every two weeks with payment to the affiliate’s bank account. We handle all refunds and any technical questions. Our staff is available 24/7.
HOW TO PROCEED
Getting set up is quick and easy. We have a standard template that we use to get the information from you.
